In November 2016 we switched the hot water system to a continuous gas unit so as to cater for larger groups and more demanding hot water requirements. At the same time we switched the electric cook top over to gas because, frankly, we hate cooking on electric ranges.
To power these systems we have gone with a double 45kg bottle setup. For most visits, guests should not need to do anything as the tanks are quite large, however you may find that you run out of hot water, or the cook top stops working during your stay.
If this happens simply duck outside to the space beside the garden shed on the kitchen side of the property. Here you can switch the lever mounted on the post over to the other bottle, and then open the valve on the second bottle to get the gas flowing again.
PLEASE ENSURE that you have shut off the gas on the cooktop inside the house before switching the bottles outside!
Once you have done this can you please call, email or text us to let us know the first bottle has emptied, and we will arrange a replacement delivery to avoid any gas supply interruptions.
Here is a guide from Origin should you need more information.
We will add photos to this article when we next get to the house.
