There’s a 6 burner BBQ with a side burner on the canal side patio. This BBQ heats up VERY quickly with the hood closed and needs to be watched when there are children about.
Generally there is a full or near-full gas bottle attached for each new booking, the gas will be turned off at the bottle, and needs to be turned on before use. If you run low on gas during your stay, there will be a spare bottle in the garden shed closest to the canal, if you’re not comfortable swapping bottles, please call Bruce on 0400222251 for assistance.
Each burner has its own piezo igniter, so can be lit individually by pushing in and turning the appropriate knob, however for safest lighting please makes sure the far left burner is always lit first to avoid buildup of dangerous gases in case a burner you cannot see fails to light properly. The side burner knob is the second from the right (the one closely packed between two main burners). The flat plates are reversible to offer griddle style (great for steaks and burgers) or flat style (eggs and bacon).
Please scrape down the BBQ and give the outside a wipe with the wipes you will find in the drawer beneath the main unit. shut off the gas when not in use.
You will find BBQ utensils in the drawer under the BBQ or in the second top drawer from the left in the kitchen. Please keep an eye out for leaking fat/oil from the BBQ as it will cause a hazard on the patio tiles.
If you have a large group (or a lot of bacon to cook) you will find a smaller flat-plate BBQ in the garden shed so as you can cook everything at once, rather than juggling the cooking.
Happy Barbecuing!
The large patio table seats 10 guests and is an ideal place to eat and sip a soothing beverage as the sun goes down. If you need to place hot dishes on the tables PLEASE ensure that they are placed on the marble inserts in the centre, and not on the wood. Any damage to the table through mistreatment will be deducted from your security deposit.
The awnings in the patio area are for sun shade, and should NOT be left lowered during windy periods, (as we found out) they can be easily damaged by strong winds, we intend to replace these once we find a viable alternative, the outer awning is already damaged (by wind) and should not be used for the moment, we apologise for the inconvenience.
The tiles in the patio are quite slippery when wet, so please use caution when coming in from the pool or pontoon, or during rain. They will be replaced wit appropriate outdoor tiles during Q2 2016.
